Hydrangea

I bought my first Hydrangea Plant in 2016 then it flowers twice and never after that, and I know why?
It was badly treated as I was totally new and did not study of how to care for it.

As I experienced, this flower plant is always thirsty so you need to keep them moist all the time. They love the sun but not too piercing one. Half shade will be good enough.

To brighten up this post, let me share with you a beautiful picture of the blooms. Soo chantik kan!!! Mind you, the color of the flower head changes according to the soil pH, Acidic soil with a pH less than 5.5 will produce blue flowers, soil with a pH greater than 5.5 will give a nice beautiful pink color flower

Planting tips:
rich, porous (somewhat moist) soil
add compost to enrich poor soil
Love full sun (morning sun) and afternoon shade-partial best!
Leaves will quickly wilt if the soil too dry (give them plenty of water, as I said earlier, they are thirsty plant)

A few days ago, I tried to propagate Hydrangea by simply a cutting, placed it in car porch, looking good now hopefully it will thrive.

Organic Powder Fertiliser

Spending the whole morning sowing vegetable seeds, and propagating Daisy & Kekwa using cuttings.
Hope that today's project will give good result.

That I will share in my next post, but for now - let me introduce you one of my trusted organic fertilizer (baja), made from the sea matters.

Since I am planting small fruit tree such as Autralia Lemon, Ping Pong Longan, Promoganate, Dragon Fruit, Kemunting, Miracle Berry, Seedless Guava, Honey Starfruit, Kedondong, Limau Kamquat and few more others - it is a must to use ORGANIC FERTILIZER.

It is completely natural and 100% safe for your entire family.

FISHMEAL Lets talk about Fishmeal first.... fishmeal is made from fish (part that is not generally used for human consuption), it is also known as the oldest natural fertilizer. STILL THE BETS!
Very good for soil builder / soil conditioner (Pemuliharaan / mengimbang tanah)
Improves soil health, it also increases soil fertility by providing primary nutrients neccessary for plant to thrive.

It is also offer a source of burn-free nitrogen.

Rich with NPK approx 10:2:2
Hign in Micro & Macro Nutrient, high contain of Amino Acids, high in vitamins including Vitamins B-Complex.

Considering that Fishmeal is a "Slow-Release" fertilizers, you can apply it 2 weeks once. Depending on your plant needs.
- roughly 30-60 days depending on plants.

BONEMEAL
This is a powder organic fertilizer made from ground up animal bones.
especially used to add phosphorus (NPK 3:15:0) to garden soil.

- I am not going to elaborate more on how it is made in here -
Maybe in future post we will cover more in it, for now lets us dig more on how this fertilizer benefit our garden.

Using bonemeal will help the flowring plants, like roses or bulbs, grow bigger and more plentiful flowers.

Quick tips:
before adding bonemeal to your plant, please do check your soil pH level. The effectiveness of the bonemeal phosphorus drops significantly if the pH of the soile is above 7.
In case your soil tested and has a pH level higher than 7, Please CORRECT the pH first before adding bonemeal, otherwise it will be just a waste as it won't be effective.

Bonemeal also useful in balancing out other high nitrogen, organic soil amendments.
For an example: rotted manure (excellent source of nitrogen but lack of significant amount of phosphorus) - by mixing rotted manure with bonemeal, this will make the potting mix complete, rich with both nitrogen and phosphorus.

Reading the whole afternoon to get some add-on knowledge. I enjoyed it so much, I hope this posting will help others in getting better understanding about this oldest natural fertilizer.

Coming up next, I am going to do some research and study about Banana in Compost. Oh wait... no! no! - before that I will first share "HOW I DO MY OWN COMPOST"

Till next post.

hugs,
vR
